| What is
Health Insurance and Why Should You Have It?
|
||
Health Insurance - insurance against ill health: insurance to cover the costs or losses incurred if an insured person falls ill. Health insurance is intended to shift financial
risk to an insurance company in exchange for an insurance premium.
Where most insurance coverage pay once a loss has occurred, health
insurance continues paying to keep your loss from getting worse.
Health insurance is probably your most important coverage since it
can be the difference between life and death. Fortunately, most
employers offer some form of health insurance. Often times you will
have to choose from several different alternative plans with
differing coverage and premiums. Given the bills you could face for an unexpected illness or injury, health insurance is probably the most important coverage you can have. Though you may be in good health now and think you’ll never need it, don’t bet your life on it – or your financial future. |
